Services set for GSU student who drowned

Funeral services were announced today for a Grambling
State University student who drowned over the
weekend. Orlando Carter, 21, of Lake Providence,
reportedly died Friday after drowning in an off-campus
swimming pool, according to a dispatcher with GSU
police. The dispatcher said she was not sure where the
drowning took place.
Visitation for Carter is from 1-6
p.m. Saturday at Brannum Funeral Home in Lake
Providence. The funeral is set for 11 a.m.
Sunday at the Lake
Providence Junior High School Auditorium.
